The "Sugar Tunnel" idea came about due to the long association of Tate and Lyle with East London.

The tunnel allows children from local primary and special needs schools to think about what uses sugar has other than the traditional one of sweets and food e.g. glue on envelops, cough syrup etc.

The children will then need to plan out how they can represent their ideas using recycled materials which can be tied onto the tunnel.

Each school will then spend a day in the park decorating the tunnel and having a picnic. We aim to issue certificates to the children to show they participated in the "Heritage Project" and created the sugar tunnel.
